Bridal makeup: Do’s and Don’ts

•May 3, 2012 • Leave a Comment

Since bridal season is here I wanted to share with all my lovely brides some do’s and dont’s. This is for all the brides that will be doing their own makeup.

Do’s and Don’ts

1. Use Primer for face and on your eyes. This will hold your makeup all day, help your makeup application look  smoother and also control the oils in the skin. There are many primers on the market so make sure you choose the one that best suits your skincare needs.

2. Do not wear colours that are too bright. Try sticking to natural colours and stay away from anything too shinny. Its your wedding day, which means you want to look like a better version of your enhanced self. Save the colour for a night in the city.

3. Remember to drink lots of water 2-3 months before your wedding. Keep your skin hydrated, makeup will look 10x better on a healthy skin.

4. Bring blotting paper around with you all day. Don’t use touch up powders because they can look thick and cakey if you’re using it all day long.

5. Lip stains are great if you don’t want to touch up as often.

6. All your eye products should be waterproof. Eyeliner, mascara and even eyeshadow (eye primers can make your eyeshadows waterproof).

7. Don’t get a pre wedding facial. This can make you breakout or cause a reaction. You want to stop the month before your wedding if you want facials done.

8. Make sure you exfoliate your skin very well. The last thing you want is your makeup looking flaky and uneven.

9. Always practice your makeup before hand. Don’t try to freestyle the makeup on the day of your wedding. Practice makes perfect.

10. Lastly, USE A SETTING SPRAY! For all the brides going somewhere hot, you are going to need this. It will save your life. lol.

( Setting spray recommendations: Makeup forever, Urdan decay, Model in a Bottle and Lise Waiter.)

Lise Watier Hydrasmart 3d Hydration Tinted Veil.

•April 11, 2012 • Leave a Comment

Hello everyone! Lise Watier has introduced something perfect for the upcoming summer. Hydrasmart 3d Hydration Tinted Veil. Just incase you are confused about what this products is, my best way of describing it is a cross between a tinted moisturizer and a beauty balm (bb cream). It has slightly more coverage a tinted moisturizer  would, but not as much as most BB creams. I got a chance to use this at my mini long weekend getaway at the cottage and I loved it! My skin went super crazy in the wild and caused me extreme dryness and this baby kept me hydrated and comfortable all day! It also covered my imperfections that occurred while eating horrible food (by horrible I mean junk food lol ) for 3 days.

Hydrasmart 3d Hydration Tinted Veil is loaded with amazing ingredients to keep the skin soft, hydrated and young. Great for summer to make your tan last! Hydrasmart 3d Hydration Tinted Veil is $35 and 40ml you can get it on

This is a picture of me using the Hydrasmart 3d Hydration Tinted Veil with Powder and bronzer on top.

Cheers and thank you for reading my blog! Remember to Subscribe!

Urban Decay 2 inspired Natural Eyes.

•March 24, 2012 • 3 Comments

Say goodbye to dull, dry, winter skin and hello to dewy, fresh, glowing spring skin. This Makeup look was inspired by the nude tones of season created by the Urban Decay Naked 2.

Step 1: Complexion | To prime my face I used Smashbox Photo Finishing Hydrating primer. This give me a smooth base for my foundation and all day lasting Hydration. For my foundation I used Makeup For Ever Hd Foundation and as a setting powder I used Guerlain Meteorites powder. This powder contains many coloured beads to correct skin tone and also provide a glowing finish.

Step 2: Eyes| I primed my eyes with Smashbox Photo finish lid primer. Remember to always use an eye primer. It will help your eyeshadow stay on longer and the colours of the eyeshadow will also be more vibrant.

I will be using the Urban Decay Naked 2.

Step 3. Using the colour “Bootycall”  I apply this shade all over my eyelids. This is the base colour for my look.

Make sure you blend very well with no harsh lines.

Step 4. Now only in the centre of my eyelids I used the colour halfbaked.

Applying a high shine shadow to the centre of the lids will create  bigger brighter eyes.

Step 5. Now I used the colour Darkhorse to contour the outer corners of my eyes in a inner “V” formation.

Start will less and build your colour. Remember to always blend every well to have a soft airbrushed gradient finish.

Step 6. I lined the inner upper rims of my eyes with Stila waterproof eyeliner in the colour Stingray. It is one of the darkest black eyeliners I have ever used.

Lining the inner lash line will enhance the eyes without looking over done.

Step 7: For the top on my lash line I used Guerlain liquid Black eyeliner.

Draw a thin line and wing out the eyeliner just a bit.

Step 8: Now for the blush, I used Nars blush in “Orgasm” This blush is the perfect shade of orange and pink with a slight gold shimmer. Great for any skin tone.

Step 9: I slapped on a pair of no name horse Hair lashes I got from ebay. Most of the times I like to use lashes because I feel that they are a lot easier to remove then mascara.

Step 10. Finished off my lips with a L’oreal lipgloss.

Natural Glow Everyday Makeup. ft: Lise Watier Natural Glow Kit

•March 1, 2012 • Leave a Comment

Lise Waiter now offers makeup kits that have everything you need to achieve a desired look. I created my look with the Lise Waiter Natural Glow Kit. The kit comes with an Eye shine eyeliner in the colour Fauve, Lipstick in the colour Biscoti, Loose mineral eyeshadow in Folie Douce and Blush on powder in Natural Glow. All these full size products come in this kit for only $42! Thats like paying  only $10 for each product! If you were to buy these products individually it would cost you about $70. I think these kits are a great idea for beginner makeup users that are not sure what types of makeup look good together. Its so simple and straight forward that anyone can use it.

I love Lise Waiter mineral loose shadows because they are so muiti-functional. You can use them on your eyes, cheeks and lips. You can also mix them together or layer them on top of other shadows to create new colours. I applied the loose mineral eyeshadow in Folie Douce all over my entire eyelid and blended. Super easy!

Lise Waiter Eye shine eyeliners are waterproof and long lasting. They glide on super smooth and contain ingredients that are super hydrating for your eye area. I applied the Eye shine eyeliner in the colour Fauve really close to my lash line. Both upper and lower lash line.

Blush on powder in Natural Glow is the perfect shade for everyday. It not to pink or brown and it enhance the cheek bones naturally.

Lise Waiter Rouge Gourmand lipstick is rich and creamy. Its a super moisturizing and keeps your lips soft and supple. Its like having a lipstick and lip treatment in one. I love the colour Biscoti, its natural but gives a nice even glow to my lips.
